Foster + Partners Industrial Design at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026
At this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, Foster + Partners Industrial Design launched three new collections and showcased several other collaborations with global manufacturers.
The studio launched BEAM and COLUMN with Punt – two complementary timber furniture collections that support diverse spatial arrangements within office, residential, and commercial environments. The team also introduced Area, a modular furniture collection developed in collaboration with Kettal, which has been designed to support a variety of collaborative settings – including meeting rooms, co-working spaces, libraries, and cafes.
Alongside these launches, several of Foster + Partners Industrial Design’s established collections were on display, including the Vea lighting collection with Artemide, Osuu with Walter Knoll, VIO and FIO with Ichendorf Milano, and the NF Collection with Karimoku Furniture.
BEAM and COLUMN, Punt
The new furniture collections comprise a flexible shelving system and a range of tables.
BEAM is informed by Foster + Partners’ architectural projects, particularly the Narbo Via Museum in Narbonne, which features long span roof-supporting concrete beams, interpreting this architectural language at the scale of furniture. The adaptable system includes freestanding, ceiling and wall-fixed shelving units, credenzas, and cabinets. It is available in multiple tier configurations, while individual units can be combined horizontally to form larger shelving compositions.
COLUMN is a trio of sculptural coffee tables – with different heights and diameters – designed to be used individually or together. The collection also includes three types of dining tables, including a round table, a flat-oval seated table, and a flat-oval standing table.
Area, Kettal
The Area furniture collection features a series of structural columns, tabletops, and integrated accessories. Aluminium columns are available in three diameters and accommodate power, data, and lighting infrastructure. Tabletops come in different sizes and shapes including round, rhomboid, and triangular configurations. Accessories expand the collection’s functionality, including a fabric screen divider and a concealed grommet for power components.
Osuu, Walter Knoll
Combining a moulded plywood seat, steam bent dowels, and machined timber structure, the Osuu chair’s pared-back aesthetic and fluid lines make it a unique addition for both office and home environments. The chair was developed through an iterative process and subjected to rigorous ergonomic testing, ensuring maximum comfort.
Timber comes from the Black Forest, and all materials are processed within a 450-kilometer radius of Walter Knoll's factory in Herrenberg. All wood variants are FSC certified, which guarantees sustainable forestry.
Vea, Artemide
Suitable for both outdoor and indoor settings, Vea is a large adaptable lighting fixture. A tall stem with an adjustable light source at the top, it is capable of providing a wide pool of light from above that can be lowered to create a more intimate lighting effect.
Vea’s outdoor range also includes two bollard versions in different heights, which gently illuminate pathways and landscaping. It also extends into indoor settings with a human scale, warmer colours, and versatile forms.
VIO and FIO, Ichendorf Milano
VIO is a glassware collection defined by precise geometry and controlled shape. Each piece is handcrafted using a lampwork modelling technique from a single piece of borosilicate glass, ensuring elegance and refinement.
FIO is a collection of colourful capsule-shaped vases designed to celebrate the art of seasonal flower arranging. The vases adopt an eclectic approach to flower displays, offering the user flexibility from a single stem to a full bouquet.
NF Collection, Karimoku Furniture
The NF Collection includes a sofa, lounge chair, high stools, dining chairs and table, and a coffee table. Designed with Norman Foster, it is characterised by its distinctive timber frame and simple fabric infills. Each item has been manufactured by Karimoku’s state-of-the-art woodworking machines and has been hand-finished meticulously.
