Designed in close collaboration with the Italian manufacturer, Poltrona Frau, BAY System addresses the varying needs of travellers throughout the airport terminal. It is made up of a modular kit-of-parts that can be reconfigured by the airport maintenance team, to create different spatial layouts. This makes the system a flexible and enduring seating solution.
Two seating solutions– BAY Gate and BAY Lounge– have been designed to offer different levels of ergonomic support and privacy. BAY Gate provides high density seating for areas such as the airport gate. It is made from recycled nylon with an ergonomically moulded seat and slim armrest. BAY Lounge's curved formation allows for more choice between individual and group settings. It features a wider cushioned seat for longer periods of rest and relaxation. BAY Gate and BAY Lounge both include power sockets, screen and lighting elements, USB, and wireless charging points to enhance the experience of waiting.
The entire system is fully demountable, allowing components to be separated, reconfigured, and replaced. It can be stored compactly, enabling a high level of efficiency during logistics operations, saving space, and reducing transportation costs and carbon emissions. Its unlimited choice of layouts, broad palette of modular elements and materials, and ease of installation makes BAY System a compelling choice for designers, specifiers, and transport terminal operators around the world.
BAY Accessories is the latest addition to the BAY System collection. This range introduces a series of tables and poufs that enhance flexibility in a variety of environments, from airport lounges to co-working spaces. Designed to complement BAY Lounge, these pieces also stand alone, offering versatile seating and surface solutions.
There are two versions of the table– a fixed-height lounge table and a height-adjustable table that adapts to different ergonomic needs. The adjustable model features a simple mechanism that allows users to raise or lower the surface with the press of a button. Both tables have a steel base with a vertical support and a top in HPL or veneer, combining durability with a refined aesthetic.
The poufs are available in multiple sizes and shapes, including bench, curved, and round variations. Their sculptural forms create dynamic seating landscapes, whether used individually or in clusters. The pouf has a side handle– offered in leather or matching fabric– making repositioning effortless.
